Pride Float
Saturday, June 29
2–6 PM
Cherry Beach
Here’s your chance to show float your Pride on Lake Ontario. We have teamed up with MEC Outdoor Nation, Patagonia, and Red Paddle Co to put together an alternative pride event right here in our urban landscape. As a gay-owned and operated business, we hope to offer an inclusive event to the LGBTQ+ community and provide an opportunity to live a lifestyle in harmony with our natural environment.
We have an afternoon planned down at Cherry Beach and encourage everyone to bring their own human powered vessel to help them float their Pride! Much like ourselves, our floatation devices come in all shapes and sizes: canoes, SUPs, kayaks, inflatable unicorns or even a pool noodle! The swimming area at Cherry Beach will provide a supervised and safe environment for swimmers of all levels, has ample parking, and easily accessible by public transit.
We will be bringing along our fleet of Stand-up Paddleboards and offering Intro to SUP clinics as well. We will give back to our environment by doing a short beach clean up and dance in the sun to the beats of local DJ Raphael Sanchez! Grab your fiercest bathing suit, invite a friend and come join us in assembling a diverse and adventurous Pride Floatilla right here in Toronto.
To ensure maximum fun and safety at all times on the beach, we are excited to welcome our lifeguard and Pride Float Marshall Jezebel Bardot. She is a Toronto’s French-Canadian drag performing artist. Starting her career with impersonations of comedy tycoon Joan Rivers, Jezebel has modeled her stage persona around strong, inspiring women such as Joan Rivers, Brigitte Bardot & Dolly Parton. By day, Jezebel works in education and has a background in Sport Psychology & Physical Education.
This is a free event for the entire family and registration is not required. We have limited spots for Intro to SUP clinics with a $10 donation to our Freshwater Fund. Register by getting a ticket through our Eventbrite event.
In case of rain, the event will be held on Sunday, June 30th from 2 to 6 PM.
